Bulgaria has been working on
meeting the Millennium development goals, specifically the goals ‘Eradicate
Poverty’ and ‘Improve Education Bulgaria’s level of poverty has dropped from
15.6% in 2001 to 14.1% in 2007 and the current goal for 2015 is 13%. Although this may not seem like a lot, the
average monthly income (euros) has grown from 88 in 2001 to 165 in 2007 and the
goal of 280 in 2015. Bulgaria has been
working on improving enrollment rates in education, especially the higher
education grades. The completion rate in
secondary education in 2002 was 51.3%, 74% in 2006 and the goal for 2015 is
90%. More students have completed higher
education levels, which has dramatically improved the goals of improving education.
